Here we are...at home! On Friday, March 13, 2020, our district made the decision to close for 2 weeks in response to Covid-19. We were asked to take everything we would need to work from home and to wait for further instructions. During the next 2 weeks, we spent time gathering resources for students to transition to online learning. This included providing professional learning opportunities for our teachers and librarians. As we neared the end of the 2 week period, our Governor made the decision to close schools for the rest of the year. Needless to say, we have all had to make adjustments to this new normal.
Although my innovation plan has been paused for now, I look forward to the 2020-2021 school year when I can fully implement my plan with our new librarians who will be hired over the summer. Our department is going to merge with the IT department which will cause me to make a few adjustments to my plan. I look forward to the opportunities this new merger may bring. Of course, as my innovation plan takes on new life next year, I plan to post and share pictures of my progress. Stay tuned!
